OVERVIEW
We’re looking for a technically-minded project manager who brings structure, clarity, and forward momentum to complex digital projects. You won’t be designing or coding, but you must understand how those pieces are best executed and fit together, and you’ll play a central role in aligning agency goals with project goals across a portfolio of client work.
In this role, you’ll work alongside strategists, creatives, developers, and digital marketers to scope projects from their initial defined state and move them through structured agile and sprint processes. These projects span websites, eCommerce platforms, and web-based applications, ranging from focused builds to large-scale platform migrations with complex integrations, multi-vendor coordination, and significant business rules documentation requirements.
You’ll collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure every project is planned and built for success (on time, on budget, and aligned with both agency and client goals). This role is based in our Manchester, NH office. In-person presence is required and non-negotiable. If you’re looking for a fully remote position, this isn’t the right fit.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
PROJECT DELIVERY
- Serve as technical PM for web builds, eCommerce platform projects, and web-based application development, ensuring timelines, budgets, strategies, and deliverables stay aligned across internal teams and external partners.
- Collaborate with account leads and strategists to translate business goals into functional project requirements and structured delivery plans.
- Refine scopes of work after RFP or proposal stages, identifying assumptions, risks, dependencies, and resourcing needs, and confirming estimates and allocations before work begins.
- Lead sprint planning and agile workflows, facilitate handoffs between teams, and maintain clarity around who owns what and when.
- Manage project documentation throughout, from briefs and milestone tracking to decision logs, meeting notes, and client-facing status updates.
- Oversee QA processes to ensure every deliverable is reviewed for functionality, accuracy, and alignment with specs before delivery.
- Coordinate with client-facing account managers to ensure all handoffs are seamless and well-informed.
- Contribute to site hierarchy and sitemap planning; support wireframe development using tools like Relume or Figma when needed.
TECHNICAL COORDINATION
- Partner with developers to plan architecture, troubleshoot blockers, and assess technical effort across a range of project types and technology stacks.
- Coordinate multi-vendor integration environments, managing dependencies across payment gateways, ERP/CRM systems, fulfillment tools, POS integrations, and inventory systems where multiple third parties share the timeline.
- Oversee code branching strategy and multi-environment deployment workflows (Dev, UAT, Staging, Production) to ensure releases are stable, documented, and non-disruptive.
- Work with third-party support teams as needed to meet technical connectivity requirements and integration specs.
BUSINESS RULES & QUALITY
- Lead gap analysis and business rules documentation on complex platform projects, translating operational workflows and client-specific logic into clearly defined functional requirements and testable acceptance criteria.
- Champion unit testing and regression testing frameworks, ensuring business rules are codified into test cases and actively maintained as features are added or modified.
- Ensure that projects are both efficient for the agency and impactful for the client, balancing business, creative, and technical success metrics throughout.
TEAM & PARTNER COORDINATION
- Coordinate across internal and external delivery teams, keeping all parties aligned on priorities, dependencies, and timelines.
- Maintain on-site client presence during active project phases. Building strong working relationships with client stakeholders is part of how this role delivers.
WHAT YOU BRING
EXPERIENCE
- 5+years managing digital or web projects. Agency, SaaS, or product-side experience welcome. Agency experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ownership of at least one large-scale platform migration or full-platform redevelopment, not just feature additions or ongoing maintenance.
- Experience coordinating multi-vendor, multi-integration projects where you’re accountable for the whole, not just one workstream.
- Familiarity with business rules documentation and building structured test plans against those rules, particularly in complex, rule-driven systems.
- Comfort working with enterprise or regulated-industry clients where compliance requirements, approval processes, and documentation rigor are part of the engagement.
TECHNICAL FLUENCY
- Strong understanding of web development concepts (CMS, APIs, databases, hosting, frontend/backend workflows) without needing to code.
- Comfort with eCommerce platform architecture: how product catalogs, inventory systems, payment gateways, and fulfillment tools connect and interact.
- Familiarity with ERP/CRM integration patterns, particularly Microsoft Dynamics 365 or comparable enterprise platforms.
- Understanding of multi-environment deployment workflows and code branching strategies.
- Working knowledge of common CMS platforms (WordPress, Shopify, etc.) and staging/deployment processes.
- Familiarity with technology stacks across common platforms and frameworks (PHP/Laravel, React, .NET, Azure) to the degree necessary for scoping, risk identification, and clear communication with developers. No coding required.
- Awareness of compliance requirements relevant to digital platforms: PCI DSS, WCAG 2.1 AA, uptime SLAs.
TOOLS & PROCESS
- Experience with modern project management platforms (ClickUp, Jira, Asana, or similar) and a clear, repeatable system for tracking work across teams.
- Confidence working in wireframing tools (Relume, Figma, Miro) to support UX direction as it relates to project scope.
- Familiarity with testing methodologies: unit testing, UAT coordination, and regression testing cycles.
WORKING STYLE
- Exceptional organization. You create structure where none exists and maintain it under pressure.
- Direct, clear communicator. Equally effective with developers, executives, and clients who aren’t technical.
- A proactive, solution-first mindset. You flag risks early, propose alternatives, and always look for smoother paths to success.
- Comfortable being present at client locations during active project phases.
- A strong instinct for balancing agency resources and timelines with client expectations and project goals.
BONUS POINTS FOR
- Experience with eCommerce platforms in regulated or highly rule-driven industries.
- Familiarity with hosting and infrastructure tools: WP Engine, Cloudflare, cPanel, Azure.
- Exposure to open API design and developer-facing documentation.
- Experience with AI-powered workflow tools: ticket triage automation, testing pipelines, or data extraction.
THE DETAILS
This is a full-time role based in our Manchester, NH office. Expect to be on-site 3–4 days per week with 1–2 days remote as project phases allow.
Salary: $70,000–$90,000 depending on experience.
BENEFITS INCLUDE
- Health insurance
- Paid time off and paid holidays
- 401(k) with employer match
- Ongoing professional development support
HOW WE WORK
We move fast, but we don’t confuse speed with sloppiness. The standard here is high, for the work and for how we think about it.
This role comes with ownership from day one. That’s exciting if you want to dig in and drive something. It might feel like a lot if you’re looking for a role with clear guardrails and a playbook already written.
HOW TO APPLY
We read every application. Apply and then send a short note to amy@wedu.com with the subject line “Technical Project Manager.”
Your note should cover two things: a complex platform or integration project you’ve owned end-to-end, and how you manage competing priorities across multiple teams and vendors. Concise is fine. Generic is not. Applications without it will not be reviewed.
